Stewart’s first full-length foray into Christmas fare, Merry Christmas, Baby is highlighted by duets with a wide range of his fellow stars. Mary J. Blige guests on “We Three Kings,” while Trombone Shorty makes appearances on the Cee-Lo Green collab “Merry Christmas, Baby” and the album’s lone original song, “Red Suited Superman” (penned by Stewart with David and Amy Foster). Michael Bublé, no stranger to holiday music, joins Stewart on “Winter Wonderland.” Chris Botti contributes trumpet to Stewart’s “virtual” duet with the late Ella Fitzgerald on “What Are You Doing New Year’s Eve?” And Dave Koz’s sax complements Stewart’s signature raspy vocals on “Let It Snow! Let It Snow! Let It Snow!”
Stewart is one of the most successful and acclaimed singers in music history. A winner of Grammys and Brit Awards and a member of the Rock & Roll Hall of Fame since 1994, he has sold more than 120 million records worldwide and notched four No. 1 albums in the U.S. to go along with four Stateside No. 1 singles. On Dec. 31, 1994, he headlined the largest free rock concert in history for a crowd of 3.5 million at Copacabana Beach in Rio de Janeiro. Concurrent to the launch of his formidable solo career in 1969, he rose to fame as the singer for Faces. He was inducted into the Rock Hall a second time in 2012 as a member of the band. In 2016, he was knighted at Buckingham Palace.
