Black Sails in the Sunset is AFI's fourth studio album, released in May 1999 through Nitro Records. It
is the first AFI album to feature the current line-up of the band. The band describes the album as
forming the beginning of their subsequent sound, which contains more melodic vocals, as opposed to
their first three albums, which maintain a fast, non-melodic punk sound.
